Review & dispute a move-in inspection

Check the move-in photos your landlord recorded and flag anything that's wrong — your protection at move-out.

Why review it carefully

The move-in inspection is the agreed record of the unit's condition when you arrived. Reviewing and signing it protects you from being blamed at move-out for damage that was already there.

How to respond

  1. Open the move-in inspection your landlord shared.
  2. Check each room's photos and notes against what you see.
  3. If something's inaccurate, dispute it and add your own photos as evidence before you sign.
